'Milka' is similar to 'Rarity’ but with more lavender. Flowers are held up on long, strong stems with excellent vase life.
Developed in Italy (Biancheri Creazioni) the Mistral PLUS line is an enhanced subset of the classic Mistral family. Genetic Improvements: selected for larger blooms, stronger stems, greater uniformity, and an expanded color palette. Farmer's Note: Personally I find this premium series to be easier and faster to root indoors (I usually get 100% rooting in less than a week), better equip to bounce back from a frost (I've accidentally frosted entire trays and had them bounce back with no issues), and more resilience to late spring heat.
Size: 4/5 centimeters in diameter, considered standard size with a large number of blooms compared to smaller sizes. Make sure you know the size of the corms you are buying, many sellers leave out this detail.
Growing Note: Anemone can be tricky to grow in many areas of the U.S. The key to growing them well is knowing when to start them in your particular area. They HATE the heat so if you start them too late they will not flower well and terminate. They are also not winter hardy in zones lower than 8 and are prone to rot and being eaten by mice and voles. In general Anemone take about 90 days from rooting to flower and they will need cool weather (evening 40-50° & daytime 60-70°) weather. If too warm, they will stay dormant. I would always recommend soaking and pre-sprouting these premium corms - I would never just plant them as is and hope for the best - they are far too finicky in my opinion. Once you get your timing right you will be rewarded!
